Do you know a student who attends Spencer High School? Invite them to our Money Moves Series Saturdays at Spencer High School from 9:00AM-11:00AM. The series will highlight teaching skills such as budgeting, saving, investing, understanding debt, multiple revenue streams, home ownership, and real estate acquisition. Developing financial literacy skills lays a foundation for students to build strong money habits early on and avoid many of the mistakes that lead to lifelong money struggles. These skills also provide a foundation for students to be able to invest in their local communities which leads to growth and expansion. Breakfast will be served.

One of the best skills we can give our girls is to empower them to be able to use their voices to advocate for themselves. Navigating relationships can be particularly difficult for pre-teens and teens who are working to grow in their self-awareness. There is a lot of information on social media about relationships, but not all of it is healthy. There are also a lot of predators looking to take advantage of girls by offering them love and affirmation behind a social media profile that may be fake. To that end, the Educational Development Committee in partnership with the Physical and Mental Health Committee of the Columbus Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter is hosting the workshop "Who's Steering Your 'Ship?" This interactive workshop, facilitated by licensed professional counselors Qiana Toy-Ellis and Tracie Porter, will offer healthy strategies to help girls ages 11-18 navigate a variety of types of relationships. Join us Saturday, February 15th, 12-2 p.m. at the Columbus Public Library Auditorium. Lunch will be provided and the event is free and open to all girls ages 11-18 (middle and high school students).
